All for only Rs. 5

I took this video while visiting the Hogenakkal falls in Tamil Nadu. When you take a boat ride, these guys (actually kids of around 12yrs of age) would be waiting near the hill sides. And if you want they would climb up the hill(I didnt take that part, he was pretty fast in climbing) and then dive into the river.
All you have to spare is Rs. 5, yeah after the dive they would swim upto you and collect the money.

Taare Zameen Par - My point of view

Well first of all 4 stars.
Now I will explain that.
Story - I liked the story, it wasn't something new. But it was somewhat realistic and people can relate to it. I don't know how popular dyslexia is though. Because I didn't have that much idea about it. And I don't think the average person would be knowing too.

Acting - I keep forgetting the actor's name every time, but Darsheel's acting was top class. Can't expect anything better from a new child actor. And man does he know how to cry? It had the same effect as seeing Aamir cry in DCH, every time Darsheel did in this movie.
All the actors in the movie were able to portray the character to the point, even the kid playing Yohan. Aamir was good, although I thought he had teary eyes more often than needed.

Direction - As said above, Aamir had teary eyes more than needed. Then I particularly didn't like the entry scene for Aamir, it was too dramatic. It should have been a little elegant and a little funny, not a dhamaka and a song was too much (for me. Actually I excused myself to the restroom at that point, as we don't have intermission in theaters in US). But many people did like it though. And the 3rd point is the interaction between Aamir and Darsheel wasn't shown that much. How he transformed the boy was not shown properly. It just happened. This is why I took away 1 star.

Songs - Well actually I can give 6 stars to the songs. They were delightful and lyrics were very intense. Well just skip Bam Bam Bhole, pass it to the kids, they would love it.

What else is there, I think I covered everything. My first review, I mean first take on a movie on my blog. I am no way a reviewer, this is just my point of view. (Disclaimer!)

I am not Alcoholic!

As I sit in my office, on my birthday, with no work whatsoever to do... I remembered of something that happened some 2 years back when I was at home for a vacation.
I have this weird pain in my right abdomen, it's not actually a pain, kind of I feel something there.
Well so I went to see a doctor with my Dad. Unfortunately our Family doctor was not in town so we went to another one who is next to it. The one from my native village and everyone coming to town from my village supposedly goes to him. Has a big name and is retired, so hopefully experienced.
Well he checked me and said it can be anything so get an Ultra-sound done. And so we did, the report didn't say anything special, except in the remarks section it said "Fatty Liver". On the way out we met another doctor (a younger one) who said, its not a problem, it would go away on its own. So there we were going to see the doctor happily for a final report.
When the doctor saw the report, he asked if I any eating problems, as it shows I have high fat and sugar.
I don't know what my Dad was thinking, because he just jumped over my answer and said, I drink a lot of coke and coffee. Well he was right, I had a habit. So as the final verdict the doc gave me a medicine "Alcoliv" and said "You have to stop drinking; coffee". And I said, yeah I think I have to.
Later when I searched about Fatty Liver and Alcoliv, is when I realized what had happened. Fatty Liver is a common occurrence in people who are Alcoholic (and hence medicine is Alcoliv). It does happen to non-alcoholic persons also, specially when you are overweight and suffering from "laziness". Which was the case with me. I don't have a problem when people don't believe that I don't drink or smoke. It even doesn't bother me now when people say I don't look that sober (You know.. "dekh ke to nahi lagta!). It has happened so many times now.
But the point is, isn't a doctor supposed to ask all these before prescribing something? How can he just assume from my face. With all those experience he has, why was he shy about asking that, he might have thought I would anyway deny in front of my Dad.
It wasn't a problem in US though, I just filled the form saying I don't drink, and they didn't need to ask me again. The doc just said, "choose your gym."

In GOD we trust, for everyone else we have Master Card

Happy New Year!
And what a nice way to start it, after all my efforts to join some new year party failed I managed to go to sleep a little early somewhere around 1 AM. Better enough I slept till 3 in the afternoon that is. Well not a great way to start a year, but all those who know me expect the same from me the whole year anyways. So after setting the low expectation it would be nice when I surpass it.
Anyway, what I wanted to jot down here was a funny thing I saw at the temple today. Yeah! went to the temple as part of tradition :). And I got to know that the temple accepts Visa and MasterCard. I mean its alright with that, I mean they charge money for some Puja etc and even give you the receipt. So better enough that they accept Cards, so that I don't have to worry about cash. But I don't see a point in putting that sign on the entrance gate. I mean its not a shop that people have to know about the transaction process, before entering.
Besides everything else what about the aesthetic appeal. Huh! Like .. hey you know youcan go the temple at Lackman Road for the Diwali Puja. and they even accept Credit cards, Visa and MC.
